Green wood floors/ eco friendly floors

We can help you with eco friendly flooring options!

Green wood floors and eco friendly floors
Did you know. Twice as much wood grows each year  in the United States than is harvested. American forests are 90% larger now than they were 50 years ago. Individual trees are selected for harvest, encouraging forests to renew and regenerate themselves naturally. Every part of the log is used as lumber or by-products. Finished products are reusable, recyclable and biodegradable. With hardwood growth well-exceeding removal, the US supply of hardwood for flooring, furniture, cabinetry and millwork is sustainable now and for future generations. Ergo all wood floors grown in the US are green.

Today, with more homeowners considering eco-friendly home improvements, top eco-friendly flooring choices include bamboo, cork, linoleum and reclaimed hardwood. I'm now seeing more homes using wood flooring from barns, century homes and colonial houses. hand planes

I've heard that White Oak is the most durable for hardwood flooring. Is there any other type of American grown wood that is as durable as White Oak for hardwood flooring that would be considered "green"?

Using reclaimed hardwood flooring can be a more sustainable and an eco-friendly option because it adds character at the same time it improves your home. Finding a professional who is familiar with eco-friendly floorings will help you when you are getting materials for any flooring project.
